Kelas Rekreasi 6 Disember 2012

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..

Hye people :)

Pada minggu lepas, 6 Disember 2012, bertempat di belakang Pusat Renang Uitm, telah diadakan aktiviti survival. Kami diminta untuk menyediakan atau memasak beberapa makanan yang boleh disediakan jika kita menjalani aktiviti rekreasi seperti perkhemahan, jungle trekking, mendaki gunung dan sebagainya. Seperti yang kita tahu, semasa kita menjalankan aktiviti tersebut, kita sukar untuk mendapatkan makanan harian kita. Oleh sebab itulah aktiviti ini dijalankan bagi menguji setiap individu untuk berfikir tentang menu yang sesuai disediakan ketika menjalankan aktiviti tersebut. Kami telah dibahagikan beberapa kumpulan dan setiap kumpulan ada menu istimewa yang tersendiri.

dan akhirnya kami telah menyediakan sandwich tuna, scramble egg dan baked beans. Selepas itu, kami diminta untuk membentangkan menu kami dan kami akan dinilai sendiri oleh coach kami iaitu En Muiz dan En Hafiz.

Hello people :)

On 29 November 2012, we had to do a quiz. a spontaneous quiz.. why? because we have  not been told by our coaches about the quiz.. so we were not very prepared to answer those questions. The questions basically about the anatomy of kayak, anatomy of compass, tools for wall climbing, tools for orienteering and etc. we just answered the questions based on our tiny memories and our experiences only..

Hello people! :)

On 22 November 2012, we had our orienteering test. Orienteering is a family of sport that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain, and normally moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.Originally a training exercise in land navigation for military officers, orienteering has developed many variations. Among these, the oldest and the most popular is foot orienteering. For the purposes of this article, foot orienteering serves as a point of departure for discussion of all other variations, but basically any sport that involves racing against a clock and requires navigation using a map is a type of orienteering.

For me, based on my experience at KPT-UiTM Orienteering Challenge 1Malaysia, 3rd Edition 2012 that was held in Pasir Gudang, Johor last semester, orienteering is totally a very very exhausting activity! We need to use map and any required tools to pass it..

During the test, we are divided into groups of four. Then, we are given 2 checkpoint to be accomplished within 30 minutes. We were given a map, a control card and a compass. Before we started, we need to copy the location of the checkpoint.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

Straight to the point, today we had to join the wall climbing activity! Its so interesting for me! We did the wall climbing at the Extreme Park at Seksyen 13. We went there by bus at approximately 8.OO a.m. As we arrived, there is 2 trainers waited for us. They gave us a little speech about the wall climbing and they said that wall climbing is one of the safest recreational activities.

As we already done this activity before, we just skip to the belay technique.


"Belay is the process of securing and safeguarding a climber by using a rope to hold the climber's weight if he falls. The ascending climber and belayer, or a person holding the rope or belay device are a team that is linked together by the rope. Belaying is an important part of the climbing chain of safety and one of the most important skills that any novice climber must master to become a safe climber. Belaying refers to a variety of techniques climbers  use to exert friction on a climbing rope so that a falling climber does not fall very far.A climbing partner typically applies friction at the other end of the rope whenever the climber is not moving, and removing the friction from the rope whenever the climber needs more rope to continue climbing. The term belay also means the place where the belayer is anchored; this is typically a ledge, but may be a hanging belay, where the belayer is suspended from protection in the rock."

Each of us must have a partner and my partner is Aini Rosesyazana. one to belay and one to climb. And then we will switch after that. When we already wear the harness and attach the rope, we must double check to ensure that the harness is already tighten and the rope are in the correct order. This is to ensure safety.

hello people, we meet again! this is a veryy very short entry..

Pada 8 November 2012, kami dikehendaki untuk melakukan fitness test. fitness test adalah wajib dan penting bagi setiap individu yang mengambil kokurikulum. Kami dikehendaki untuk menjalankan fitness test sejauh 2.5-3 km mengelilingi uitm.. Bagi perempuan, kami dikehendaki untuk menghabiskan fitness test selama 15 minit manakala bagi lelaki hanyalah 13 minit. Sebelum kami memulakan larian, kami dikehendaki untuk melakukan warm up dan sesudah berlari, kami melakukan cool down.

Kelas Rekreasi 11 Oktober 2012

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..

Hello people :)

Pada 11 Oktober 2012, masih di tempat yang sama iaitu Tasik Shah Alam Seksyen 2, pukul 5.30ptg, telah diadakan aktiviti kayak. Aktiviti kayak pada kali ini berkaitan dengan cara-cara menyelamat menggunakan teknik H-rescue.

Serba-sedikit tentang h rescue..

Teknik H rescue melibatkan dua penyelamat. Ini adalah untuk mengosongkan semua air dari kayak terbalik. Langkah pertama, kedua-dua penyelamat hendaklah berkayak dan mesti menghadap ke arah mana- mana sisi kayak terbalik. Sementara itu, perenang mesti mengambil paddle kayak.Seterusnya, kedua-dua penyelamat mesti meletakkan dayung mereka secara melintang di kayak mereka supaya mereka membentuk  seperti H. After that, to lift the capsized kayak out of the water, the rescuers must place the kayak face down upon the paddles and rock it back and forth until all of the water is out. Selepas itu, letakkan kayak kembali di dalam air, dan perenang kini boleh  masuk semula ke kayaknya.

Nothing much to say about h rescue actually.. so this is the end of activity kayak! with that, I am actually grateful in doing those activities as they gave me so mind numbing experiences that i will not easily get  in the future.. Alhamdulillah.. and more exciting activities akan tiba nanti.. :) salam..

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..

Hye everyone! :)

Pada 4 Oktober 2012, bertempat di Tasik Shah Alam Seksyen 2,pukul 5.30 petang, telah diadakan aktiviti kayak yang kedua. TETAPI, aktiviti kayak pada kali ini bukan hanya berkayak sahaja. kami diminta untuk melakukan capsize! tahu tak capsize tu ape?? capsize tu macam ni.......

Cuak tak cuak la kan nak buat.. sebab takut jadi macam ini..HAHA..


basically mmg semua macam ni pon..especially me.. -_-"

Tetapi sebelum itu, kami dikehendaki membuat WATER CONFIDENT! okey memang ini paling cuak.. -_-"
Sebab apa cuak? Tentula sebab tak pandai berenang.. dan rakan-rakan yang lain pon tak pandai berenang.. Kami kemudian memakai jaket keselamatan dan terjun ke dalam tasik satu persatu! Part ni memang macam nak melayang nyawa..sebab panik..so jangan panik ye adik2 bila dalam air..tenangkan diri dan move on macam katak! HAHA..

Macam ni la gayenye water confident tu ye!

Bila dah basah kuyup semua, kami pon diminta untuk memilih pasangan, kayak dan berkayak..partnerku adalah sharifah..bila dah berkayak, kami akan diberi arahan oleh coach kami untuk melakukan capsize.. untuk melakukan capsize, kita kena letak paddle tu ditepi kayak.. kemudian bongkok kan badan kehadapan dan tolak kesisi anda..nescaya kayak tersebut akan terbalik..!bila dah terbalik, dont be so panic, and cepat cepat cari jalan keluar..this one was really mind numbing yet really embarassing..amazing sebab tak penah buat dan bila buat, berjaya dan rasa best! malu sebab my scarff errrrr...... complete the sentence (bukan terbukak okey)..

Tetapi cabaran kami tidaklah berakhir begitu sahaja, dah pandai terbalik, kenela pandai naik semula.. This part memang paling susah.. disebabkan kami dh basah kuyup, jadi kami makin berat ditambah pula dengan tenaga yang semakin berkurangan, maka semakin sukarla kami nak naik semula.. untuk melakukan proses ini, seorang kene berpaut pada hujung kayak dan seorang lagi akan cuba menaiki kayak tersebut....

Bila dah menaiki semula kayak, maka berdayungla kami ke tebing tasik.. walaupon tak seperfect mana, tapi still alhamdulillah sebab dapat melakukan aktiviti ini dengan jayanya.. Seperti biasa, sebelum pulang, kami akan diberi taklimat ringkas tentang aktiviti yang akan dijalankan pada minggu hadapan.. so apa aktivitinya? stay tuned! :) salam...

Assalamualaikum w.b.t..

we meet again! :) 

Pada 27 September 2012 yang lepas, bertempat di Tasik Shah Alam Seksyen 2,pukul 5.30 petang, telah diadakan aktiviti kayak yang pertama pada semester ini! should i say yayyy or nayyy! absolutely yayy. :)
Setibanya kami di sana,  kami telah diberi taklimat oleh En. Hafiz, another coach for group A, tentang salasilah kayak dan bahagian-bahagian yang terdapat pada sebuah kayak.

Selepas diberi taklimat, kami diminta untuk mencari partner masing-masing. lelaki dan perempuan.. okay akward moment but its for safety reason la kan.. Kemudian, pakai jaket keselamatan dan berkayak la kami di tasik itu.. mengelilingi pulau kecil atau taman burung atau entahla sebanyak 2 kali pusingan.. setiap kumpulan akan ada seorang ketua yang akan lead kami dan kami tidak dibenarkan berkayak melepasi ketua kami..untuk memastikan tiada partner yang tertinggal di belakang dan tiada yang nak tunjuk terror.. :P *jokes* walaupon cuma berkayak sahaja, tapi masih rasa takut, tak yakin, tak reti dan segala jenis tak la sebab last kayak, sem lepas dan cuma sekali je so maybe lupa sikit2 kot..so thank you to my partner which i dont know his name because he helped me a lot la through kayaking ni.. so *bow* to that man..
